Join Us for a Festive Juneteenth Jubilee

Date: June 20, 2026
Location: Kennett Library, 320 E. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348
Time: 10 am to 3 pm

This year, we are thrilled to celebrate Juneteenth in the heart of Kennett Square during the vibrant Third Thursdays event! Join us on State Street, where we will add an exciting festive atmosphere to the already lively outdoor dining experience, live music performances, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

What to Expect:
  • Community Gathering: The library is opening all spaces to the community, including the first floor and classrooms and open space on the second floor. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with neighbors, friends, and family while celebrating this significant day in history.
  • Great Food: Enjoy delicious offerings from food trucks, featuring a diverse array of cuisines. Whether you’re in the mood for Caribbean dishes or American fare, there will be something for everyone.
  • Live Music: Immerse yourself in the sounds of talented local musicians who will take the stage throughout the day. From soulful performances to upbeat rhythms, the music will enhance the celebratory atmosphere and bring everyone together.
  • Family-Friendly Activities: Bring the whole family and engage in a variety of activities designed for all ages. There will be face-painting, art stations, games, and storytelling sessions that highlight the significance of Juneteenth and the African American culture.

Why Juneteenth Matters:
Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, symbolizing the end of slavery in the United States. Our celebration aims to honor this important milestone in American history while promoting community unity and cultural awareness.

Come Celebrate with Us!
We invite you to participate in this special evening of remembrance, joy, and community spirit. Mark your calendars for June 20, 2026, and join us at the Kennett Library for an unforgettable Juneteenth celebration! Bring your friends and family, and let’s create lasting memories together.
